A weekly table-tennis session for people living with Parkinson’s and their carers will launch in Keighley on Tuesday 20 October.
The first PingPongParkinson session starts at 5pm at Keighley Table Tennis Centre, on the second floor of Keighley Business Centre, South Street, BD21 1SY.
Professional coach and player Steve Rowe will lead the sessions. The centre says no previous table-tennis experience is needed, and carers are welcome to take part alongside the people they support.
What to expect
The Tuesday sessions will include warm-ups, bat-and-ball activities and time at the table. Organisers say the activities will focus on movement, balance, coordination and confidence, with opportunities to meet other people in a friendly setting.
Rowe said: “Everything is delivered in a friendly, supportive and enjoyable way. No previous table tennis experience is needed, and carers are very welcome to come along and join in.”
